The Greene County baseball team couldn’t pull off a second straight upset Monday night, falling short against Boone 7-2 in the second post season game in Class 3A Substate 2.
Taking a 2-0 lead after the first inning, the Rams were shut out the rest of the way by Boone pitcher Spencer Turner, while the Rams gave up four unearned runs on four errors while the Toreadors had just one.
The Rams had just three hits, all singles from Joe Anderson, Nick Breon and Clay Smith. Anderson, starting pitcher Austin Delp, Clay Smith and David Richter played their final baseball game for Greene County.
Boone scored seven straight runs over the rest of the game and sent the Rams home with a 10-23 record on the season.
